About
Heading into the 21st century, Saba Jenga looks to make a mark on an industry void of a female presence with substance.
The DMV native was born in the nation’s capitol, raised in Richmond, Virginia, and later molded in Maryland. Growing up in a reggae record store, close to Howard University, foreshadowed her soon-to-be dreams of crafting chart-topping hits. While she is heavily influenced by the sounds of Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Santigold, The Wutang Clan, Erykah Badu and Busta Rhymes, she is a unique songstress unlike other. With aspirations to change the world and someday be a famous hip-hop leading lady, Saba began to start taking her craft seriously, her sophomore year of college. While at St. John’s University, Saba was forced to focus on her music on a hiatus from college. After countless breath-taking appearances on campus, the University has since honored her with the 2012 Best MC "Walk this Way" award.
Teaming up with HiLo Entertainment and up-and-coming producer BoZone, led to her first EP release in 2011, "The Elevation Station." The product was a six-track masterpiece, dubbing a sound unprecedented to the game. The EPs critically acclaimed hits "Butterfly in the Sky" and "Risky Business" have become instant fan-favorites. A 90’s baby by birth, Saba’s melodic rhymes are very reminiscent to the flavor of her youth, but officially futuristic.
The multi-talented femcee, currently hosts a monthly artist showcase for upcoming talent in Brooklyn, interns under Daddy's House at Bad Boy Entertainment, and is a current student at New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. The artist spends her time working on all creative endeavors to spread the word about her music.
